Soul Asylum's 1995 hit "Misery" could have been easily titled "Frustrated Incorporated"

Instead of "Missing," which is never said in the lyrics, I would've titled the Everything But The Girls song "And I Miss You."

The Brothers Johnsons' 1977 hit "Strawberry Letter #23" should have really been titled "Strawberry Letter 22"

A few weeks back on a '75 show, we heard Alice Cooper's "Only Women". He always sings the phrase, "Only Women Bleed" in the tune. It was a song about an abusive marriage yet the record company assumed people would think it was about something else, so they eliminated "Bleed" from the title.

I never liked the title "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" because it's grammatically incorrect. I guess it was easier than singing "If You Love somebody Set Him Or Her Free."

In "Breakout" by Swing Out Sister, the lyrics seem to be use the title as a verb, not as a noun, so I would make the title "Break Out." Ditto for "Runaway" by The Corrs. Ditto for the aforementioned (by me) "Runaway" by Jefferson Starship, and "Getaway" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Doofus

Two more George Michael songs:
"Everything She Wants" could have been titled "Somebody Tell Me," though I understand the actual title is more to the point of the song. Also, "One More Try" could have been called "Teacher."
And a Grateful Dead song:
"Touch of Grey" could have been titled "I Will Get By."

Speaking of George Michael, his "A Different Corner" perhaps should have been called "I'm So Scared."

A more appropriate title for Aretha Franklin's "Think" could be "Freedom".

Oran "Juice" Jones's "The Rain" should be "Walking In The Rain". Tears For Fears "Mothers Talk" could have been either "Change In The Weather" or "We Can Work It Out".

Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" could have been called "If I Lay Here."
Also, "Say Say Say" always seemed like a silly song title to me, but then again I'm not sure what else they might have called it.

A few more:
Flagpole Sitta Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me) Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First)
For two of those, the subtitle should have been the title. Those main titles...just why???

The Brothers Johnsons' 1977 hit "Strawberry Letter #23" should have really been titled "Strawberry Letter 22" According to the songwriter (Shuggie Otis) the singer is responding to letter #22 (in a series of love letters) and the song is his gift to the girl (Strawberry Letter 23). Well how about that I learned something today and I hope you did too.
