There are 2 Julian Lennon songs that might be mistitled: "Valotte" should have been called "Sitting on a Pebble By The River" "Say You're Wrong" should have been called "Which Way To Turn"

It wasn't a Top 40 hit, but it's everywhere in advertising these days. Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" should've been called "Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright."

Instead of "Pink Houses," I'd've called it "Ain't That America."

I just breezed through all ten pages of this thread to make sure this one hasn't been mentioned...
IGY
Yes, it had a subtitle, but the subtitle should have been the title. IGY sounds even more absurd as a song title when you know what it stands for.

I remember WMCA had The Good Guys BOOOOO whenever Len Barry got to "A-B-C". They couldn't not play a #1 song, so that was the best they could do, I guess.

For what it is worth, Michael1973, I do appreciate it when people read through the other pages before posting. XD

I understood why (here comes the censor) F*gen named it after 1957-58's International Geophysical Year (which was actually a year and a half, and encompassed my birth). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Geophysical_Year

Even if it makes sense as a title, I'm sure it confused the majority of listeners who probably had no idea what the International Geophysical Year was. Also, outside of the song was that event ever referred to by just its initials?

Corey Hart's second hit, "It Ain't Enough" probably should have been called "That Ain't Enough."

"Do They Know It's Chriotmas" by Band Aid should have been titled "Feed the World".
