So since the reincarnated AT40 shows are available to iHeart radio and AT40 is a continuation of CT40, does that mean the CT40 shows are available too? Premiere rep: " No just no."

I had to explain to some yutz at Premiere's Domestic Affiliate Relations department that the Stevens era AT40 did not belong to Westwood One. I gave her a brief synopsis of CT40 and so on. She directed me to the Listener Feedback line twice.

Nor were they active in any aspect of AT40 in August of 1988. The "created by" part of the credits was always unique to AT40. No other radio show that I know of has ever included that. These days shows don't even have credits. Don Bustany was active in some sort of consultant role after 1988 with AT40 according to Rob Durkee's book. Did Shadoe Stevens host from 1988-1995" Premiere rep: No habla Inglis! Premiere actually mentioned Shadoe in a 1988 reairing during an extra of "Sweet Child Of Mine" by GNR a few years back. So this indicates Premiere does not pretend Shadoe is non-existent. They didn't have to mention him at all.

I would hardly call someone a "yutz" for not knowing that bit of information, in fact I'd call it insulting. Other than this core group of superfans, why would someone need or have that information? Someone working in Premiere affiliate relations is responsible for contracts between dozens of shows and likely hundreds of stations and would have no need to have a backstory on a show from nearly 30 years ago now.

I assume you mean him calling the person a yutz is insulting, not the fact they had no idea about Shadoe. To which agree with you.
Actually I have to be honest. Every day I become less of a fan precisely for the same reasons I am not a wresting fan anymore, college football fan anymore, and am becoming less and less a fan of sports in general. I like things. In fact, I really like some things. However the people absolutely obsessed with it ruin it for everyone else. It becomes you aren't a real fan, you don't know what you are talking about, you actually hate this, etc. It happened with the Teblowers over Tim Tebow. It happened with wrestling because I liked the quasi sport of it, not the gaga bs that it's become the last 20 years then being told I'm the problem. I've been called a fake conservative because I think Republicans should confirm Obamas Supreme Court nominee because regardless of how they've all acted in the past THATS THEIR JOB AND SOMEONE SHOULD BE THE BIGGER PARTY. And do I really need to go in depth about what has gone on here? In other words what am I saying? It is other people who ruin it for those who keep things in perspective. Being a fan is great. Being a fanboy sucks.

You are correct Paul, the part I found insulting was referring to the poor Premiere affilate relations employee as a "yutz" for not having the same knowledge of AT40 as us on here.
I am not surprised you were referred to the listener feedback line as that is precisely what you were - a listener giving feedback.

Premiere actually mentioned Shadoe in a 1988 reairing during an extra of "Sweet Child Of Mine" by GNR a few years back. So this indicates Premiere does not pretend Shadoe is non-existent. They didn't have to mention him at all. Back on AT40's 40th Anniversary the AT40 website had a pictures section, and it showed pictures of Shadoe and mentioned him as a one time host. So it's just most of the time that they pretend he doesn't exist.

Well, I just assumed that since she worked at Premiere, and her network carries AT40..... she should know something about the history. But something has just come to mind..... this could sound absolutely insane.... but perhaps when Casey sold AT40 to AM/FM, he decided to whitewash the Stevens era in order to maintain a narrative.
