I was listening to American Top 40 earlier today, and I noticed something strange about the show. I noticed that some of the songs that were in the Top 10 on the show today, were not in the Top 10 in recent weeks. For example, the No. 1 song on AT40 this week for the 6th straight week was "Give A Little Bit" by the Goo Goo Dolls. When I listened to American Top 10 this morning, Casey mentioned that 1, 2, Step by Ciara featuring Missy Elliott is No. 1 on the pop chart this week. And I noticed that some of the songs that were in the Top 10 this week weren't not in the Top 10 according to the AT40.com web site. Is AT40 using a different chart? or am I just losing my mind?

Sounds to me that you could have been listening to AT40 HAC instead of the regular AT40. I don't know but "Give A Little Bit" has been #1 on AT20 for at least that many weeks and it's a HAC show. Which station did you listen to it on?

You were, without question, listening to the Hot AC version of American Top 40.

I heard the show on OZFM at OZFM.com. By the way, I know that Casey hosts American Top 20, which counts down the Top 20 Hot AC Hits, but when did this Hot AC version of American Top 40 debut?

The show allegedly debuted back in November. It took me a minute to figure out that that is what you were doing. But yeah, you were clearly listening to AT40 HAC. And just like Dee's website you would not realize there were two charts if you went to the web.

I think they SHOULD post both charts on the web. I know there's another guy - Hollywood Hamilton - that has 2 different versions of a Weekly Top 30 (Pop and Rhythmic), and he has no problem acknowledging both charts/shows on his web site.

Yep...definitely sounds like a case of a station flipping from the CHR version of AT40 to the HAC version. "Give A Little Bit" has been #1 on the HAC show for a few weeks now.
The HAC show, for the record, began on December 4 of last year.
