They are currently playing 5/15/71 which is at the bottom of the current 70's list. The next 70's show will start around 5:40 Pm EST. It may be the 5/28/77 show that they were trying to add but mashed up at the end of the last cycle.

What prompted Premiere (other than the 2 bigger hit remakes) to use Keith Hampshire's "First Cut Is The Deepest" as an extra because 1. It wasn't that big of a hit (I think we can hear why) Most Importantly 2. his singing is dreadful They could've used debuting at 100 that week was "Cum On Feel The Noize" by Slade that was re-made by Quiet Riot it had to be better.

They will probably add another in about an hour. Maybe that will be the 5/28/77 show.

This is puzzling. They are playing 2/1/75 now which is the 7th show down the top of the list. Does this mean they are cutting the first 6 out of the rotation now?

Does this mean they are cutting the first 6 out of the rotation now? 2/26/72 right now and it was 2/16/80 before that. So, they have skipped another few shows. Let's see if they have deleted some of the shows that have been on the channel for a long time.

If they're cutting anything I wish it would be the year end shows. Especially since they are going to air a marathon on the 4th of July week & will probably bring back again at Christmas.

On the 80's list they went from 1/15/83 last night to 2/16/80 which skipped over 16 shows on the list. Then they went to the top 85 show which skips over 3 more. On the 70's list they played a new show 5/26/73 and then skipped down the top of the list to 2/1/75 which skipped over 6 shows and then to 2/26/72 which skipped over 3 more.

Well, I disagree about Hampshire (he sounds a lot like David Clayton-Thomas to me and I like many of his "almost hits") but I'm thinking AT40 has a bunch of Canadian affiliates and they threw them a bone here.

I guess I will give Premiere credit for digging down for something you don't hear all the time. I think the dreadful comment come from after years of hearing the Rod Stewart & (especially) Sheryl Crow version it just sounds so different but I'm guessing it was a bigger hit on the Country chart as it sounds country. Also thanks for the info that he had other "almost hits" & that he was from Canada (I guess I should've took the time to look it up) I'll probably get used to it as I hear it more as an extra on that show & won't dislike it as much.

Check out "Big-Time Operator", also from '73 -- he sounds even more like Clayton-Thomas here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQCVTJTPTHE

After Skipping at least 10 shows in the current cycle they are just finishing up playing the last show on the 70's list now (5/26/73) so they may add a new show shortly after Noon EDT today.

They have added 5/28/77 and 6/5/71. But for the 6/5/71 show, after #23, they switched to #21 of 6/5/76, and later switched back to 6/5/71. Let's see if 6/5/76 is coming up on the channel.

They also added 6/17/72. That's the 4th show added at the end of this 70's cycle. Will they add another? We will find out in about 15 minutes.
