As we all know Z100 from New York, has a history of not airing the year end countdown shows of AT40 and Rick Dees. Z100 prefers to air their own year end countdown. (Which is really "STUPID" in my opinion.)
However, on AT40, Jan 1-2, 2005 Show, Ryan thanks Z100 from New York for helping out on producing this weeks show during the end credits. I know Ryan was in New York for the FOX TV New Years Show. However, did Ryan also have to record his AT40 bits at Z100, to ensure Z100 would air the AT40 year end countdown?
By the way, did Z100 air AT40 and Rick Dees Year End Countdown this year?

Don't know why he thanked them, however I *CAN* tell you that Z100 didn't air the show. New host for AT40 in 2004, but some things...like Z100 not airing the year-ender...never change.
Oh, but they played their own Top 100 about 400 times like in the past.

I also recorded Z-100 overnight last night trying to record Rick Dees's show. Apparently it is no longer airing on there at all any longer.

When do they start thjis year end show? Thanksgiving? I hear you guys complain abou tit every year and saying it is stupid and played over and over. Do they repeat it continuously for a month or what? Also, is is just you want to hear the national year end shows or is it really poorly produced?

It's played about 400 times between Christmas and New Year's Day. Usually, the first airing is on Christmas Day after the Christmas music ends. And it plays at least once a day...sometimes twice...until New Year's. It's overkill.
I think what upsets me the most is that they for some bizarre reason think their listeners will get "confused" if you hear Ryan or Dees doing a top 100 of the year and the local station one. I mean, Ryan/Dees make it clear it's a NATIONAL survey, and Z100 makes clear that theirs is a LOCAL survey. So why not air both? No one's going to be upset if they only run their local top 100 show 398 times instead of 400.

It's the same pre-produced show aired each time.
