OK, much in the same vein as we have one of these lists for "Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 70s" and "Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 80s," I thought I'd try to start a list of the competing retro-countdown show, "Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40." This listing of stations will follow the same basic format as the AT40 shows threads, seen elsewhere on this forum: station call letters, slogan and regularly scheduled time and day of broadcast; all times are Eastern. For right now, I'm not going to list whether there is a live stream of the station, but many of these stations do have that; I'll get to that later (hopefully). Remember that because of individual station circumstances, there may be instances of stations starting the show early or late, at a different time or not at all; the circumstances vary widely. www.timeanddate.com is a great site for converting time zones. ------------------ 1980sAlaska* KMBQ (99.7 FM) -- Q99.7 Wasilla Sunday, midnight-4 a.m. Iowa* KIYX (106.1 FM) -- Dubuque's Super Hits 106. Feel free to add. Brian

Looking at this size of this list, and then looking at the size of the AT40 station list - it's actually kind of sad. But those Dees shows just don't hold up...

Looking at this size of this list, and then looking at the size of the AT40 station list - it's actually kind of sad. But those Dees shows just don't hold up... The thing to remember is this is just the start of the list. As people see this thread and they add their local stations that play classic Rick Dees countdown programs, the list will grow. Recall that back at the discussion with "AT40: The 80s" now offering "A" and "B" shows, someone said that there might be a sports station that runs the show during off-hours (as filler) that nobody may be aware of ... that's kind of the case here. Until those other stations are known, the list will be small. (Although I hardly think "Rick Dees classics" stations are sports stations (running the show as filler during off-hours) or rural stations running the program at non-peak hours.) There's more. Brian

I believe there are not many stations because shows are available on Rick Dees website. Here is one station with the 80s show: WPNC Monday 12-4 am Magic 95.9 Plymouth, NC radio.securenetsystems.net/v5/WPNC

I've checked KIYX FM as of today starting 4pm until 6PM, and listened but there's nothing I could get for 80s Edition.

No wonder few 80s stations have dropped affiliate, due to lot pf repeats of 80s from last year, audience gets bored listening to repeats.

For the 90s: KORL FM Mix 101.1, show played in (Hawaii time zone) Saturday 4pm-8pm Kani, is that 90s show still being played on that station? And is that time listed Eastern Standard Time?

I'm not 100% sure, though for what I posted KORL FM many months ago, I haven't thought about KORL later on since no one responded several months ago or updated it. But as of now, it appears that there's no reference for Rick Dees airing as they updated a new design on site. On March this year the one I posted about KORL was the information on site had been listed as Sat 4PM-8PM (HAWAII TIME, NOT EST)

Right now the KORL site seems to be down. However, you can use iHeartradio to listen. Rick has his current Hot AC countdown play Friday afternoons from 2-6 (HST) (always listen); I will check out this coming weekend to see if his 90's show still plays on Saturdays from 4-8; I don't often listen to this one.
By the way, HI never changes time when most of the rest of the country does. So next month, whatever your difference in time zone is, subtract it by an hour!

Well, it looks like the 90's edition of the Weekly Top 40 is no longer on KORL. So for now we get just the Friday afternoon weekly Hot AC edition here in Hawaii.
