I have stated in the 60s and 70s thread that I am reasonably sure that pgfromwp has passed away. He mentioned he was battling cancer in his posts. Based on e-mails back and forth over the past year, the information I ran across in an online obituary matches what I know of him. The link to that obituary is below.
He mentioned several times of how much his wife's support meant to him. I hope she gains strength from his spirit as she moves forward through life.
I'll miss his posts in the lost classics threads especially, but enjoyed all 982 posts he contributed. Personally, from the e-mails I received from him I also feel a loss as well. You could really tell in his final few months that he wanted to contribute as much as possible before he left us.
I was encouraged to start a thread rather than bury it in the lost classics, so my apologies for posting three times. Also I hope I didn't violate any privacy rules. If I did again my apologies; just wanted to share the sad news with the other members. www.tributes.com/obituary/show/Paul-Golashesky-101811455
In his honor, I would also like to repost this lost 70s classic from last spring. I believed he liked this one, and it seems appropriate. It was also a cover tune, a subject that was his specialty. Beyond The Blue Horizon - Lou Christie RIP

Very sad. I enjoyed his many picks and posts. He messaged me one time about my countdown specials. He had enjoyed one of them and wanted to tell me so.
R.I.P.

I'd like to add my voice in rememberance of our fellow board member. As BrettVW said above we haven't met in a real non-cyber world; However I can also conclude ,at least from the way he conducted in his postings, that he was as gentlemanly in the real world that his signature photo suggested. RIP. And thanks to 1finemrg for his tribute and for taking the effort to inform us, otherwise Paul Golashesky's AT40fg cyberspace-family.

I echo the sentiments on here. Pg seemed to always bring to this forum wonderful insight and knowledge, thoughtful analysis, a love for AT 40, and a genteel manner of expressing his opinion. I appreciate all that he gave to us. For me, one of the highlights of being on this board was in January of this year when he showcased, "Do It Again" by The Kinks: A song that had been in my head for 30 years, but I had never taken the time to actually know who sang it.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Paul's family. Thank you pgfromwp for always showing class on this board and respecting the opinions of all. Your words will be sorely missed. Thank you, 1finemrg for letting us know.
