Since my morning DJ is off until 2008, I have been listening to past AT20s on the way to work. Thus, this week I'm listening to the AT20 that aired on October 6-7, 2007. In the 2nd hour, 1st segment, was the LDD. It was from a 16 year old. She was told to be 16 and in love was impossible. However, she met a guy at a student leadership conference in Washington DC. After spending 4 to 5 days with him, she felt love and never wanted to let go of that feeling ( Oh please!!!) The problem was she lived in California and he lived in Michigan. So they have one of those true long distance relationships. So, the song that was played was HANGING BY A MOMENT by Lifehouse. So it sound like a typical LDD. However, the interesting part was the song played before the LDD, and the two songs that were played right after the LDD. The song before the LDD was WAKE UP CALL by Maroon 5. In the song the guy finds his woman with another guy in bed. The song right after the LDD was DREAMING WITH A BROKEN HEART by John Mayer. Then right after that song its INTERSTATE LOVE SONG by Stone Temple Pilots. Casey even introduces that song by saying "here's another song about a broken heart." Sounds like Caseys staff has no hope in this relationship for this 16 year old. It appears the subliminal message for this 16 year old is to forget love its not worth it. I wonder which songs they played on the AT10 version before and after this LDD.

While certainly a creative theory, I highly doubt this was planned.

Well, the two songs before the LDD are about failed relationships. In "How Much I Feel", the singer is talking about being in a relationship with someone and not being able to let go of a past relationship. Example:
How's your life been going on I've got a wife now, for years we've been going strong There's just something that I've got to say Sometimes when I make love I still can see your face
"Heart Of The Matter" is about having a disagreement and asking for forgiveness "even if, even if you don't love me anymore"
