I hope you all had the chance to hear this past weekend's LDD. What a neat song written (with his father) and performed by the writer himself!
According to Casey, the countdown shows are now in their 30th year of the LDD. For these two weeks he is presenting special LDDs.
Any guesses as to what will happen this coming weekend? (I will speculate a dedication by Casey!)
I can't wait!

Guesses for this coming weekend:
-I get a needle stuck in me on Friday (I have the day off so that counts as my weekend)
-My wife and I are going to finishing packing up this house so we can move
-We are going to Orlando Sunday and back in the same day
-NFL Preseason games will be boring
-CBS reruns will continue to get on my nerves
I think that covers it. Thanks.

The second special LDD feature will air NEXT weekend, not this weekend. I won't spoil the surprise by telling you what it is, but Casey will tell you on this weekend's shows.

How nice with the 9/1-2 LDD on AT20 this week. They replay the first ever LDD on AT40. Casey also interviews the two people today who were the subject of the first LDD.
Its the 30th year of the LDD. Zonks! I'm getting old!

I listened to both AT20 and AT10. When the original LDD was played, only one minute of Desiree was played. Why couldn't the whole song be played?

I listened to both AT20 and AT10. When the original LDD was played, only one minute of Desiree was played. Why couldn't the whole song be played? Likely because the song is deemed too "obscure" for today's radio listeners (even though it's part of a special feature).

Lot of the problems have been radio PDs who think they're speaking for the majority of listeners where in reality they are only speaking for themselves or a few vocal listeners. More than likely, most listeners would love to have heard "Desiree" and many other songs in full, etc.
That's probably the reason that stations decide to remove or replace AT10, AT20, or AT40.
Just My Opinion
