Thanks for posting this, Paul. His ability to build and grow AT40, and other radio shows, was substantial.

I was actually able to talk to Tom a couple of years ago while researching my book on Shadoe. He even invited me out to California to read the old scripts they still had of Shadoe's shows during the show's last year. I couldn't go, but I was flattered that he would let me do that if I wanted. He was a nice guy!

He did; Tom even joined in the protests that Casey's children organized outside his and Jean's house. Aside from that, Tom was active until the end in his radio production and distribution work; earlier this year he struck a deal with Premiere to take its programming to a number of Latin American and African countries.

On what would have been his 78th birthday, I would like to wish Tom Rounds a Happy Birthday.

My sincerest apologies and condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of Mr. Rounds. To those of us who have spent hours thoroughly enjoying AT40 and other programs for which TR was a key player, Tom Rounds was a true icon of American radio during the last several decades. I consider myself a fan of his, and have a great appreciation for what he was able to accomplish.
A big thanks for all he did...TR will be missed.
