Jason Derulo shouts his own name at the beginning of most of his early top 40 hits (I guess he thinks his name is well-known enough now that he doesn't have to do that anymore). "OPP" included the line "Not 'cause I hate ya, 'cause I'm Naughty By Nature" It wasn't "OPP". It was "Hip Hop Hooray" in 1993. I know it hit CT...did it make AT?

I usually look through threads like this to make sure I am not repeating a previous post but don't think it is necessary with this one. Lucas with "Lucas With the Lid Off" which I heard on the 12/3/94 AT40. One of the best songs. Ever.

Here's an obscure one for you -- in 1995, a group called Yaki-Da hit the R&R top 40 with I Saw You Dancing. The group's name is repeated throughout the song. Great song. Glad to know someone else realizes it isn't Ace of Base

Glad to know someone else realizes it isn't Ace of Base I'll admit, when I first heard it, I thought it was Ace Of Base. I had good cause to believe so, as Jonas Berggren wrote and produced it. Wish it would've done better here in the States.

Great song. Glad to know someone else realizes it isn't Ace of Base I'll admit, when I first heard it, I thought it was Ace Of Base. I had good cause to believe so, as Jonas Berggren wrote and produced it. Wish it would've done better here in the States. The same. I honestly thought it Was AoB until I heard a show from the summer of 1995 years later. What fascinated me was how quick (for the time) it went up and down from its peak from #20. It's run was more like "Tell Me When" or "Wonderful" (Human League, Adam Ant) in 1995 then say Fun Factory or Groove Theory who I think both peaked at #20 yet spent forever on the charts.
