According to All Access this week, The Fray's "Over My Head" has overtaken "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter as the most played Hot AC song of the year (to date). Does this mean that Casey will be playing a song that never hit #1 on the survey as the #1 song of 2006? I think it does.
Chart buffs: Has this ever happened before?? Just goes to show you a song that debuts in the top 20 the first week of the year and hangs around all year long can be #1 for the year. Timing is everything, isn't it?

It happened twice on the CHR chart, with Vertical Horizon in 2000 and Lifehouse in 2001.

The fact that some song is the most played Hot AC song of the year (according to All Access) does not necessarily mean it is also the Top song by every Researcher (Mediabase, BDS, etc.). It belongs to what station paneels each one has and what calculation might. It's probably more an overview to all airplays this year, also the definition of Hot AC might be different to some researcher. Í don't think THE FRAY will be the Top song of Casey's YE show later on.

It happened twice on the CHR chart, with Vertical Horizon in 2000 and Lifehouse in 2001. But as for HOT AC ( AT20) both were Number 1 songs in 2000 and 2001.
