D**n! Don't disappoint me like that.
The title of this thread was very misleading. I thought that Seacrest was leaving AT40 for good. Then, there would be a chance that maybe, just maybe, AT40 could go back to its original format spotlighting the artists and the charts, not talking about what lindsey Lohan was arrested for this week.
Then again, that probably wouldn't happen. AT40 is aimed at the teen and 20-something audience who generally like to be hip on that kind of thing. Indeed, the AT40 of the past is gone forever (well, except for the Premiere rebroadcasts).

Even if Ryan were to leave, Premiere, Clear Channel, or somebody would have probably maintained much the same format, with quite possibly a step down in hosting quality. Unless science or time travel can somehow restore a younger, healthier Casey Kasem and transfer him to the present day, Ryan Seacrest is likely as good as we'll get nowadays. I will say that the format has improved IMO from what it was a few years ago; more extras (sometimes as many as 10 a show) nowadays, but less talk, and the talk/interviews that do take place seem a bit shorter and often more music-focused.

Well, that's cool. Shorter interviews and having them be more focused on music is definitely a step in the right direction.
