Nice to hear Pete's voice for the first time ever! And to hear that dead dog dedication again. Casey definitely went off! But to hear that he started losing his voice in 2004 and yet still did the AC countdowns for another 5 years after that really is a testament to the incredible love for countdowns that Casey had. Thanks for sharing.

This is a fine short piece on Casey's life and career and I especially liked hearing Pete B. talking about how AT40 the 70's and 80's came to be. Nothing was said about the parting of ways with ABC in 1988 and Casey's legal fight to reclaim the AT40 name after the Shadoe Stevens version of the show went bust in 1995. I hope this does get airing on N.P.R. either on Morning Edition or All Things Considered.

Is Casey Kasem being interviewed? In case you've never heard it, the clip of an aged-sounding Casey near the end is from his last AT20/AT10 broadcasts in 2009. Any clips you might hear of him being interviewed are at least that old. A nicely done tribute, featuring several well chosen clips (and one of his worst moments that we all know), and not just from his countdowns; there's also audio of him as a pre-AT40 DJ and as Shaggy.

Somebody said that he was interviewed. If so, the interview was at least four or five years ago. Not nowadays, unfortunately.
