I was sitting here listening to the Weekend Top 20 with idiot host Kurt Wallace and he read a facebook message from someone named David Monroe from Springfield, Ill. In the message David says in the 80s he listened to the iconic Casey Kasem for hours on Sundays and he has listened to this show for 5 years.
Thought I'd mention this.

I was tuning around trying to find storm coverage yesterday and happened upon "American Country Countdown" with Kix Brooks. It was at #3 so I decided to check in every few minutes to hear the credits. I was very pleased to still hear Casey's name mentioned by Kix along with Don Bustany and Tom Rounds as co-creators of the show. I've never heard Ryan Seacrest mention Casey in the closing credits of AT40.

That would be because Premiere owns AT40 and doubtful it can revert to its original owners under any scenario. ACC still probably could if it followed the same mismanagement AT40 under ABC did because it would presumably still be under the original watermark deal.

^And for the record, it's been years since Ryan's mentioned Casey. dL No, actually Ryan most recently paid tribute to Casey at the end of a show in late June (6/29/13), at the time of AT40's anniversary, thanking Casey for his service and saying "we're still keeping our feet on the ground, and reaching for the stars" after all these years. However, I think Casey, and Don Bustany, should be mentioned each week as the show's creators. Ryan used to do that, but stopped several years ago. Shadoe credited them as well, even when Casey was a competitor.

Ryan will also mention Casey occasionally on the rare instance when he is giving chart info or mentioning a chart record/chart tie. Not terribly long ago he referenced something that hadn't happened in a long while and made the comment "the last time it happened, Casey counted down..."

I'm happy to stand corrected on Ryan never mentioning Casey. Does anyone have any specific chart dates of the above mentions?
