I've noticed on this weekends AT20 during the third hour, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" is played. This is the first time to my knowledge a Christmas extra was played on AT20. Too bad on AT10 they can't play the top 10 AC songs and play all Christmas extras. However, that wouldn't be very WNIC friendly. BTW, FIRE MILLEN!!!!

Also - in the first hour, "Step Into Christmas" by Elton John is played as the hour's "official" extra, and "Winter Wonderland" by The Eurhythmics is played as the optional drop cut at the end of the hour.
This is also the first time to my knowledge AT20 has run Christmas music. I am enjoying it....Bruce just wrapped up "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". Perfect amount for the show. I hope they do it again next week!

I know that on WPLJ, NYC's HAC station, they are playing a few Christmas songs an hour, mixed in with other music. Other than the fact that they play "Little St. Nick" every other hour it seems, they're doing a nice job.

This weekend also featured three Christmas songs - one per hour. Three contemporary hits that easily fit Hot AC radio...even if the station isn't Christmas-music friendly. I applaud AT20 for playing the Christmas hits this year!! Just for two weeks, and just the right amount! Way to go!

It doesn't appear AT20 will play Christmas extras this year. There were no Christmas songs on the 12/9-10/06 show.
Casey in the final segment of AT20 does mention the #1 song on the other charts. He mentions Rod Steward is #1 on the Christmas Chart. If there is such a Christmas chart, why doesn't AT10 used this for their Christmas shows? It sure would be a nice change from those 2004 Xmas rerun shows.

So far, the optional extras in hours 1 and 2 have been Christmas extras. It is great to hear Christmas music on AT20 this weekend!
Also, is it just me, or is Casey promoting the Year-End countdown more than usual? He always mentions it a few times on the last two regular shows of the year, but he has probably mentioned it 4 or 5 times already and the show still has a ways to go. He sounds excited about it!

We're all soooooo happy to hear Christmas Music, because 2 months of christmas music on AT10 is never enough ! ;D And it is just you, because promoting the YE show is business as usual, just as every year.
