I wouldn’t call it annoying since the original is one of my favorite songs, but the new “Downey Rinse and Refresh” commercial is the latest of several to recycle “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.
At the risk of getting inappropriately political, I was repulsed by ads I heard on a couple of retro AT40 affiliates urging people to contact the advertiser for Trump/MAGA themed hats.
I’m getting a bit tired of the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar AFIB spots, but they at least might be helping others by making them aware of the condition.

I don't know why but every time I hear Kareem's ad on the radio I hear in my head his famous quote in the movie "Airplane!" After the kid said his father said he doesn't play defense. "The hell I don't! LISTEN, KID! I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!"

Thank goodness there's no possibility of a radio version of those horrible Plexaderm TV ads, with the hideous-looking 'actual user' models who all look like they're from the same inbred family. And no discernible difference in the 'before' and 'after' shots!  The part in bold pops into my head every time I see the commercials. |

Dunno if it was a Premiere ad or a local spot, but an ad for sports betting ran and the guy says what sounded like "Hi, I'm Joe Button..." -- turns out it's Joe Budden. I had to google to find out who he is.  |

Next thing Downy could use other Jim Stienman penned songs in its radio commercials like "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" or "It's All Coming Back to Me Now". |
