More on "Games People Play":
All five regular members of the Spinners got a turn singing lead. This included Bobby Smith, who sounded so much like Phillip Wynne that if I didn't look it up I would never have known the difference. This also included bass singer Pervis Jackson, who, to this day, carries the nickname "12:45" in tribute to his famous vocal part.

That song had a classic example of a misheard lyric for me: I thought the singer was saying, "12:45, Pedro Borbon's on his way home. Borbon was on the Cincinnati Reds, who won the 1975 World Series around the time "Games" had peaked. I have a whole bunch of other misheard lyrics, and I'll be posting them in that thread.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this one:
"Fooled Around and Fell in Love," Elvin Bishop featuring Mickey Thomas.

"California Girls" David Lee Roth. If you gave a feature to Carl Wilson, you'd also have to give one to the other background singer on the song...Christopher Cross. I had no idea he was singing with Carl until the other day. That would have been an interesting day in the studio with those three!

It's not Dawn on "Still The Same." It's Venetta Fields, Clydie King, and Sherlie Matthews. They backed up Bob on "Still the Same" and "We've Got Tonite," as well as a ton of hit records by other artists throughout the 70s.

Like this thread...May as well add in one myself that I wondered about for years before figuring out who it was singing backup on the Supremes last #1 hit. "Someday We'll Be Together"...label says Diana Ross & the Supremes. Should say Diana Ross featuring Johnny Bristol. It was a Diana solo record in actuality and featured the backing vocals of Johnny "Hang On In There Baby" Bristol. Also pitching in with backing vocals were the Waters sisters, Julia and Maxine. You could say they were Sub-premes.

Can't believe no one came up with this one yet:
"You Haven't Done Nothin'" -- Stevie Wonder featuring the Jackson 5. He even calls them out by name a couple of times in the song.
