Bryan Ferry first hit with Roxy Music in 1976 with "Love Is The Drug". He didn't hit again until 1988 with "Kiss And Tell".

There's a current example on the Mediabase charts.
The Anxiety is top 40 on Mediabase with "Meet Me At Our Spot". The duo is made up of Willow Smith and Tyler Cole; Willow now has an 11-year gap between her first two top 40 hits as "Whip My Hair" hit in 2010.

I think Eagle-Eye charted briefly on AT40 in 1999 with "Falling In Love Again", which would make that the follow-up to "Save Tonight". I'm on vacation so I can't check my shows, but I believe it made AT40.

Yes and it went all the way to #1! It was the followup hit "Falling in Love Again" that peaked at 46.

Just remembered that Donnie Iris was part of the Jaggerz, who hit in 1970 with "The Rapper". Took him 11 years to hit again, this time solo, with "Ah! Leah!"

The Countours had 2 Top 40 hits (although the same song re-released) that were nearly 26 years apart. Same as this. Kate Bush had about 37 years between both chartings of "Running Up That Hill."

Bing Crosby, 56 years, 1962-2018.
Though not exactly his first and second appearances. 173 Top 40 hits in the 1930s, for example. Actually all were Top 20.

Hozier looks like he is entering the Mediabase Top 40 with "Too Sweet" this week, and will likely make AT40 in the coming weeks. His only prior top 40 hit was "Take Me To Church", nearly 10 years ago!

Dire Straits had a little over 6 years between "Sultans of Swing" and "Money For Nothing."

Dire Straits had a little over 6 years between "Sultans of Swing" and "Money For Nothing." ...and their two best albums, "Making Movies" and "Love Over Gold", in that intervening time period. Both great LPs.
