In You Should Hear How She Talks About You, I thought Melissa Manchester said “cant you see? It’s mean!” LOL what a maroon!

In You Should Hear How She Talks About You, I thought Melissa Manchester said “cant you see? It’s mean!” LOL what a maroon! One line I always had trouble deciphering in that song was one in the chorus. I always thought it was something like "She's just kicking an elf". It was years later that I found that the correct lyric was "She just can't get enough".

In Journey's "Any Way You Want It," it sounds like Steve Perry is singing "She loves eleven things," which I always thought was weird. Why 11? Why not 10? Or 12?

In Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," she uses the phrase "suitcase of memories." For a very long time, I thought she was saying, "Soon came some memories."

Two of 'em in "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me." For years, I thought Boy George was singing "Wrapped in sorrow, words of Tolkien" and "This bylaw's without a reason."
I guess I was giving the song a much greater depth of meaning than it actually has....

He's The Greatest Dancer by Sister Sledge on this week's 1979 show reminderd me that I always thought the lyric was "I wonder why he's the greatest dancer" instead of "Oh,what,wow..."

Motley Crue's song "Without You" contains the line "I'd slowly wilt and die." For a long time, I thought it was "I slowly will deny."

I always thought Gordon Lightfoot's song, Carefree Hwy, was Every Highway--meaning that every lonely highway made Gordon think about a long lost love (something I have done myself when travelling down some lonely highways as your mind drifts). I thought what a clever way to pass the time on a long (mostly boring) road--little did I know that the song was named for a road in Arizona named the Carefree Hwy (duh)! It wasn't until I did a countdown show that I found that out.
