I heard the ending of his last show on "You Tube". He sounded either frail or choked up. It was like the last episode of the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson.

If Casey sounded choked up at the end, it may have been emotional as he said goodbye to fans and associates after 39 years of countdowns; that broadcast did include a farewell segment in which he recapped his countdown career. Many listeners felt similarly.
I wouldn't say he sounded frail, except in the sense that his voice by then sounded considerably older and thinner than in the countdowns that are replayed now. That's to be expected and may just have been natural aging, as he was 77 years old at the time.

Can't believe it's been almost four years since Casey announced his retirement-But at least we have the classic "AT40" shows every weekend.
