According to a post on the radio-info boards, there's going to be a Hot AC version of AT40 with Ryan! My question is, how will this affect AT20? Will AT20 cease production?

Those are just speculations and rumors!
Rick Dees is leaving Premiere so that’s a big big void on many Clear Channel radio affiliates. The new show is a possible replacement for Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 timeslot which could be an AT40 Hot AC version as not to directly compete with the current AT40 with Ryan Seacrest, so Casey Kasem’s AT20 Hot AC will definitely NOT be affected. Besides, Casey signed a long term contact in late 2003.
I doubt that any new show would be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. He’s already very busy with his KISS FM 5 days a week early morning stint and the weekly AT40. American Idol Season 4 is set to begin January 2005 plus the Fox TV show award tentatively named, American Top 40 Award.

From what else I've heard, AT40 HAC is going to happen, and soon. The good news is that AT20 will not be affected directly.
Premiere has had both AT20 as well as Dees' Hot AC show for a while, so hopefully AT40 HAC and AT20 will coexist peacefully.

Right, sort of like Rick Dees Hot AC show and AT20 didn't affect each other. The new AT40 HAC is a replacement for Rick Dees' HAC show. Hopefully, the chart won't be all screwed up like I hear that Rick's is (though from what I do hear, it's not as bad as it was back in the 1980s. The whole story of that is in the "Dees show" topic in the "General Music Discussion" forum).
