Here are my predictions for some of the top songs of 2004 based on American Top 20 HAC charts.
1. Here Without You-3 Doors Down 2. This Love-Maroon 5 3. The Reason-Hoobastank 4. The First Cut is the Deepest-Sheryl Crow 5. Heaven-Los Lonely Boys 6. Someday-Nickelback 7. Why Don't You and I-Santana/Alex Band 8. She Will Be Loved-Maroon 5
This is just my guess!!

This will be pretty close to the top 10 for 2004. This Love-Maroon 5 The Reason-Hoobastank Someday-Nickelback Here Without You-3 Doors Down Heaven-Los Lonley Boys My Immortal-Evanescence 100 Years-Five For Fighting Bright Lights-Matchbox 20 Why Don't You and I-Santana feat. Alex Band First Cut is the Deepest-Sheryl Crow
I know for sure that This Love will be #1 and The Reason #2. She Will Be Loved and One Thing got started to late in the year to make it to the top 10, look for them to be around 12th or 13th, depending on how much play they get this month. I personally hope that Maroon 5's Sunday Morning makes it onto the top 50 by year's end. It's a beautiful song, and is getting a lot more airplay now.

I personally hope that Maroon 5's Sunday Morning makes it onto the top 50 by year's end. It's a beautiful song, and is getting a lot more airplay now. Actually, this month's airplay won't count. Assuming that AT20 still uses the R&R HAC chart, the time frame for the year-end chart goes from December 1 of the previous year through November 30 of the current year (or, in the case of the chart dates, December 5, 2003 through November 26, 2004). Thus, how much airplay any song gets in December, 2004 won't matter, as the year-end charts for the year have already been figured out. December 2004 will count for 2005, so the songs you discussed above should do well on the Top 60 of 2005.

I've haven't heard Casey mentioning a Top 60 Countdown. At the end of AT20 of December 18/19 show, Casey just says to tune in next week as we begin the countdown of the year.
At the end of AT10 of December 18/19, Casey says to tune in next week as the top 30 of 2004 will be counted down. So, AT10 will still only have a one week year end show. Not sure if AT20 will have two shows for the year end countdown. As they say, "Stay Tuned."

On AT20 this week(Dec 18/19), Casey also mentioned the year end show after playing Avril Lavigne's "My Happy Ending", but just mentioned that in the context of the name of that song "our happy ending".

From what I've seen of the chart, AT20 is doing a top 60 countdown and is following the R&R year-end chart. There is at least 1 song that never hit the top 20 on the year-end special.

Was the song that never reached the Top 20 the song by Jessica Simpson at #50? I don't remember it ever being on AT20.
Also I noticed an error made by Casey while listening to the AT20 Top 60 of 2004 today. When Casey announces #18(She Will Be Loved), he mentions that there were 3 songs by Maroon 5 on the Top 60 and notes that "Harder to Breathe" was at #38. That song was not even on the Radio and Records Top 100 which was used for the Top 60. The song at #38 was "So Far Away by Staind".

Thanks for mentioning this. I was only half-listening when he said that, and it wasn't until a few minutes later that I was thinking, "WHAT did he say?", but by then there was no way to go back and listen again!
