Alan basically ignored "Electric Avenue" and announced "True", which played before it, and even the song before that ("Never Gonna Let You Go")?

Honestly I blame the writers a little more than the VJs. You'd think they know by now how to read those LW/TW columns on charts.

Now Nina said that "The Safety Dance" was falling when it was climbing, while she said "Tell Her About It" moved up just a couple when it moved up 10!

Longtime display issues with two of the countdown songs:
The last two words of the Air Supply song at #26 ("Making Love Out of Nothing At All") are always omitted.
On the Human League's "Fascination" song (peaking at #8), the parenthetical "Keep Feeling" part is always put after the word "Fascination" rather than before it.

Listening back, Alan made it sound like "Tell Her About It" was moving down the chart. Either their interns or whoever writes the scripts were looking at the wrong chart or they're just trolling us and the VJs at this point.

So I got into looking at how they got all the chart movements wrong. Apparently whoever wrote it used the correct 8/27 chart for the songs, but used the 9/3 one for the chart movements.

So I got into looking at how they got all the chart movements wrong. Apparently whoever wrote it used the correct 8/27 chart for the songs, but used the 9/3 one for the chart movements. That explains everything except the statement that Maniac was a former #1. Even on 9/3, it hadn't hit the top yet.
