Mark called him Michael Martin Murphey. The 3rd M wasn't added until 1984. Then he said it was his final pop hit but followup Still Taking Chances would make the bottom 3rd of the H100

Mark said Laura Branigan won a Grammy for "Gloria" when she was just nominated for one. I think it actually went to "You Should Hear How She Talks About You".

In their ever changing definition of a hit, Mark said countdown Special Forces had four .38 Special charters... two songs cracked Hot 100 True, but he was probably looking at Mainstream Rock as well (or just misreading!) 1982 "Back on the Track" Mainstream Rock 56 1982 "Caught Up in You" Mainstream Rock 1 1982 "Caught Up in You" Pop Singles 10 1982 "Chain Lightnin'" Mainstream Rock 9 1982 "You Keep Runnin' Away" Mainstream Rock 7 1982 "You Keep Runnin' Away" Pop Singles 38 (Huge .38 Special Fan here...)

Probably right, just a sloppy intro written by the interns. Should have added some clarity ... across all genres tallied four charters or something to that effect.

Not sure what Alan meant when he said we've been enjoying Kool and the Gang since the mid 60s.... they didn't have minor charters until the late 60s and top 40s until 1973.
