Alan said he didn't remember much from the 80 Winter Olympics, but the intro to this Casey lite features audio from the historic gold medal hockey game. Now we're really stretching the definition of "countdown error."

Yeah, that's not an error. In fact, unless you're some sports fan (or Olympics afficiando), out of all that went on at the Lake placid Olympics, the main noteworthy event was the Miracle On Ice game.

Now we're really stretching the definition of "countdown error." Not really trying to equate to an error, but more to point out VJs never bother to listen to the countdown before it goes out, just like one VJ can tell a story before the song and another the same story after the song only changing a few words.

The display omitted Al O'Neal on Saturday Love. Then in her weekly content screw up Nina confused Robert Tepper's countdown song w/Jefferson Starship's No Way Out.

This is due to the fact that they all get their scripts, read whatever is there and someone puts the show together. Whoever is putting it together should be paying closer attention to what everyone is saying.

I guess this is from last week when Andy Gibb's "Desire" was introed and outroed by near identical stories about the Bee Gees writing it intending for it to be on their 1979 album "Spirits Having Flown", only to decide it didn't fit somehow and so they later gave it to their brother.

Mark said Never Been To Me first charted Oct 77, really Sept. Then in their ever changing definition of a hit, he said Charlene was a one hit wonder, even though he mentioned other low charters and omitted her near top 40 miss w/ Stevie Wonder

It happened again this week with Nina and Mark telling similar stories about how the Go-Go's came up with "We Got The Beat".

Not really an error, but I think they reuse intro's. Nina's intro story to Stevie Nicks' "Edge Of Seventeen" has been told before, pretty much verbatim. So either she just retold it, or they pulled the story from a much older show.
Update: I confirmed that the story is identical to the one she told when the played this week in 2012. Back then Martha was part of the countdown, I think they probably reuse old shows all the time and update as needed (someone dies or some other major event happened).

Alan called them Louisiana Le Roux, really Louisiana's Le Roux. Then Mark said Huey had a string of 19 80s and 90s top tenenrs?? The real number was closer to half that, none in the nineties.
