Nina said that Sheriff had a yacht rocky song in 1989, that's because it was a late era yacht rocky 1983 rerelease.

I forgot to post this over the weekend, but the 90s countdown featured a classic blunder that makes the 80s VJs seem like geniuses.
When introducing the #1 song, Take A Bow, Julie Brown stated that it became Madonna's 11th #1 song giving her the most chart toppers for a female artist. The previous record, according to Julie, was held by Carole King.
CAROLE KING?!
You mean to tell me that by hitting the top eleven times, Madonna shattered Carole's previous record of *ONE* #1 hit? Wow!

The case could be made that Carole was, at one time, the female songwriter with the most #1s:
Will You Love Me Tomorrow Take Good Care of My Baby The Loco-Motion (2 versions) Go Away Little Girl (2 versions) It's Too Late You've Got a Friend

Alan said he didn't think Samantha Fox's SAW song was ever released. It was the next single! View AttachmentThere was another SAW song on there called "You Started Something" that was written by them. Now you've gotten me looking up Samantha Fox albums? I have better things to do with my time.

On the last 1980 Big 40 show, I think Nina left out the word "Bunch" while introing Bonnie Pointer's cover of The Four Tops' song.

In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said Jeffery Osborne's first post LTD biggie was #29 On The Wings of Love. I guess actual first top 40 #39 'No Light doesn't qualify as a biggie.

Nina called 'Rhythm artist El DeBarge, of course at this point they were still be billed as just DeBarge.

That's completely correct. I can't believe these inept VJs failed to catch a song that barely spent any time on the chart so it's easy to overlook. Heck, even I forgot.

Display for Duran x 2's Save A Prayer...1982? They went with the original release date. I could have sworn it had (85) for a while.
