I was listening to a show (can't remember it now...after 1989, might have been an October 1995 show) and one of "Casey's Biggest Hits" was "Trouble Me" by 10,000 Maniacs. Which got me looking...and if I'm not mistaken, that song didn't hit the Top 40 on Radio and Records or Billboard, correct?
I found it funny that he would use a song that didn't hit the Top 40 as one of the "Biggest Hits". Maybe it was during a time that Natalie Merchant was hot on the charts. Still kinda interesting, whatever the circumstances.

It's possible (I don't know, just guessing) was an AC hit maybe? Casey's Biggest Hits was included on Casey's Top 40 shows, Casey's Countdown shows, and Casey's Hot 20 shows. I'd assume its the same 5 for each week.

No. If I remember correctly, three of the songs were the same across AC and CHR each week and two were different. Not sure about HAC offhand.

The show in question was the August 22, 1998 show. It was the AT 40 regular version. As far as I know, it is the only song that I've ever heard as an ATH or CGH that was not a Top 40 "hit". To be honest, I knew that song in '89, but if you had told me a few months ago when I heard it that it went to, say, 14 in 1993, I would have totally believed it. A song just a little to early to bloom to Top 40 maturity!

There was another week during the run of AT40 when James Taylor's cover of Buddy Holly's "Everyday" (peaked at #61 on the Hot 100 in 1985, but was a big AC hit) was included in the ATH mix. Don't know the exact date but it was definitely on the CHR version.

Fairly sure the Eagles were also featured in this with "Learn To Be Still". It peaked at #43 on R&R.

A song just a little to early to bloom to Top 40 maturity! Really now...I have the AT40 shows from 1998, but August 22 is one of them where the ATHs are missing. (Go figure! ) There was another week during the run of AT40 when James Taylor's cover of Buddy Holly's "Everyday" (peaked at #61 on the Hot 100 in 1985, but was a big AC hit) was included in the ATH mix. Don't know the exact date but it was definitely on the CHR version. 12/5/98. Fairly sure the Eagles were also featured in this with "Learn To Be Still". It peaked at #43 on R&R. Hmmm. This charted during the summer...the ATHs are missing from both June 20 and July 11 in '98, so it could be either of those, or it could simply be a post-1998 show. Otherwise, the only time I have the Eagles noted for an ATH is for "Get Over It" on November 21. To this list, I will also add: 10/24/98 - Elton John's "Blessed", which also missed the Top 40 in R&R (peaked at #46), though it definitely fits for the other two; it hit #2 on both AC and Hot AC. 12/26/98 (Part 1 of Top 100) - Sting's "When We Dance", which only reached #37. No idea about AC, but it did reach #13 Hot AC.
