Hey!
Does anyone know the record for the most debuts in a given week on Casey's Top 40 (1989-1998 only)? I think it's 8 debuts on January 26, 1991. Were there ever 8 another week or were there ever anymore? If so I was just curious as to what week and what the debuts were.
Thanks!!

Hi ! I was listening to Casey's Top 40 from 1992 to June 1995. During that period, I think 8 debuts was the most. On November 13, 1993, there were 8 debuts, also. When Janet Jackson's "Again" was at number one. In April, 1994, Radio & Records changed their chart methodology. After that, the number of debut songs became fewer. So I assume after that there were no weeks with more than 8 debuts. I don't know for sure the period from 1989 to 1991.

does anybody have a list of the eight debuts and where they debuted for the qwwks they debuted. also what is the most debuts on a Ryan Seacreat At40 show I never rememeber more then three even in the few I've heard. i don't listen much to his show becuse he does not use a chart i can find on line. I don't care for countdown shows where the chart can't be found on line.

On any R&R chart, the most debuts in a week is ten. That was on the chart for January 11, 1985. That actually shouldn't count, because that was the first chart after a two-week break. Actually, the eight debuts on January 26, 1991 might also have been somewhat induced by the holiday break, as some stations' playlists were still frozen when they were taking stats for the January 11, 1991 chart.

And, I believe it spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard chart. On the last of those weeks (which was the week of my 18th birthday - w00t!), "Downtown Train" was at #1 on R&R.
