While reading the recent thread about the first time folks heard AT40, it got me wondering...how many stations have been loyal to AT40 for the entire run?
I know that in my hometown the original station changed format by 1976 (much to my chagrin) and the next station disappeared altogether by 1990.
But are there stations that have been there for the whole run (or at least most of it) since the early 70s?

One station comes to mind. The only 1 I know of thats stuck w/ CASEY & now Ryan. Q-94 Richmond VA. The station has been a CHR since 1972 and was finally able to snag AT40 away from a low powered daytime AM station in 1976 and have broadcasted AT40 ever since on their 200,000 watt tower. I can't speak for the 70s, but I know from mid 80s, AT40 was always and still is today aired Sunday mornings 8-noon. There was the brief stint w/ Shadoe Stevens until CT40 came around in 1989, and as we all know, CT40 evovled in Top40 countdown and then AT40 re-appeared. Q94 has stuck w/ it for 32 years, now airing AT40 w/ Ryan Seacrest (CHR).

Anybody know about WPRO FM in Providence Rode Island. I knew they played AT40 up until the End and think then went to CT40 but am not sure. I also know that I heard AT40 on that station back in 1983 but thats as far back as I know of. I do know that Ryan's AT40 airs there Sunday Mornings now. Anybody have a history on that one.

Wiki lists them as a CHR since 1974.

WFTN in Franklin, NH started playing American Top 40 when it came out in the 70's. Even a format switch from CHR to AC around 1983, they aired American Top 40 Sunday evenings. Then they went from AM to FM in 1987 and switched in 1993 back to CHR. They aired Casey's Top 40 when that came out and aired Casey until Ryan Seacrest took over, which they still air today.

92.5 in Toledo has aired AT40 for many years. I'm not sure of the exact date they started, but I first heard the program in 1986. There was a brief time, approximately 1990-1992 that they did not have it, but they continue to air the show today with Ryan Seacrest.
