I found out on AT40 with Ryan Seacrest that Aerosmith had a song enter the countdown at #39. I was like... YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
This, my friends, is an extremely rare 1970s band that is still hitting the top 40 with a new song in 2012. Something you hear on AT40 very rarely now.
Madonna, eat your heart out.

That's good to know-Aerosmith's new CD is due out in early November.

And I won tickets to their concert in Tampa in December. Can't wait!

Santana had a hit with Steven Tyler a few years ago on the Hot AC chart. I'm sure if it's just Carlos now or the whole band.

To be clear, this occured on the Hot AC version of American Top 40. When this song places on the CHR version of the chart (and it likely could) or the digital sales chart, then I'll call it a feat.

Well, hasn't Santana hit in the past couple of years?
If they did, it would be a case of a band reaching the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 pre-dating "American Top 40" -- doing so with "Evil Ways" on Feb. 14, 1970.
