Hi,
Just a question...WHTZ in NYC stopped Casey's Top 40 in Nov. 1994 so I was unable to hear the broadcasts after that. Now usually, there would be a 2 week holiday break for the two part countdown of the top 100 of the year. According to a website that I saw years ago in 1995 Casey did regular weekly broadcasts on Dec 23 and Dec 30, 1995 and did the top 100 of 1995 on Dec 31. According to that same site, Casey did a regular weekly broadcast on Dec. 21 1996 and then the top 100 (in one week) on Dec 28 1996. Is that true? Did the radio statiions accomodate this?
Thanks!!

Dec 23 and 30th were year end shows in 1995. For 1996 I believe the year end show did start the week of the 28th because I remember XL 106.7 in Orlando ran the entire top 100 New Years Day (having already aired pt 1 the Sunday before), I recorded the first half but then went to meet some people in West Palm Beach that evening and knew I could get part 2 on Sunday.
As far as radio stations accommodating it, why wouldn't they? It's still the same 4 hour show produced in two parts.

I can confirm the 1996 year end show dates for Casey's Top 40. Part 1 (songs 100-51) did air the weekend of December 28th. Part 2 (songs 50-1) aired on the weekend of January 4, 1997.
