Each week on "AT40-The 70's" & "AT40-The 80's",announcer Ed Mc Mann will play a countdown extra at the end of each hour-However,not all affiliates run this particular feature-When the program directors fill out the paperwork from Premiere,do they check off a box that says:I do or I don't want to play the countdown extras?-

I doubt it, there is no advertising on that track they have to account for. So, I doubt Premiere really cares.

Does anyone know if Premiere sends a version of "AT40-The 70's or 80's" with the countdown extras deleted for the affiliates who specifically requested that?

I think they're on all the shows sent out... but on separate tracks so they can be easily edited out.

Are they even sent out on CD anymore? I figured the shows are only available via download, and from all the different stations I have heard since the optional segments were added, it appears to be a separate track.

I'm pretty sure the shows still come on cd. I know for a fact that AT40 w/ Ryan Seacrest still comes on cd. Stations have the option, however, to d/l it OR receive the cd copy. Much like in the 80s when stations had the option to receive the show on LP or record it from the satelite.

The 70s and 80s shows, to my knowledge, are NOT produced on CD.

I didn't think so either because I have never seen a CD copy of them. I have some of them from this year and they are just copies from the show, not the originals.

According to the cue sheets, the AT40 Extras are optional cuts. Stations can opt not to play these and replace them with local inventory (that is, commercials) instead.
