Hi,
For those of you who listened to AT 40 with Shadoe Stevens on 95.5 WPLJ in New York, you will remember that they started deleting songs that did not fir with WPLJ's format. Rob Durkee mentioned in his book that the most songs WPLJ deleted in a week was 14. Does anyone know what week that happened and what songs were deleted? Also, does anyone know exactly when WPLJ started doing that?
Thanks!

I believe they started editing the show themselves in early 1992. The "custom version" began shortly thereafter.
My favorite "custom edit" is the one Rob quotes me on in his book. They edited out Kris Kross' "Jump" -- and Shadoe said something like "At #11, a great song I love, Kris Kross and 'Jump.'" (And then proceeded to NOT play the song he loves so much!)
