Digging thru old diaries (my AT40 notebooking lasted way longer than my diarying which was 2 years) soon after Elvis' death, there's a note that I was ...listening to the Evolution of Rock and they are up to 1969...
this was likely on WRKO (I'd have to leave the room to look) and was not "The History of Rock" (which I've heard of) unless the station renamed it, because I wouldn't have come up with Evolution. Has anyone ever heard of this? I didn't give any more details at the time.

The Evolution of Rock is a 64 hour "rockumentry" show produced by radio CHUM of Canada. The show was broken down in 3 hour segments for each year from 1957 to 1976 with an introductory 4 hour segment for pre-1957. Each featured hour is extensive with interviews and sound bytes of news clippings. The show was produced in mono and distributed in one big box of records with a red binder for all the promotional material and cue sheets for the show. There is also a companion record with about 80 short tracks of promos by the artists featured on the show. I believe the show was revamped in later years. This particular show has been in my possession for many years and was digitized, so I can listen to it anytime.
