I'm curious about what song has charted in AT40 the most times by different artists solely during Casey's era. I did some research through 1982 and found two songs that charted on AT40 three times during Casey's host period: "Never Can Say Goodbye" - Jackson 5 (1971), Isaac Hayes (1971), Gloria Gaynor (1975) "Theme from Love Story" - Andy Williams (1971), Henry Mancini (1971), Francis Lai & His Orchestra (1971). In addition, (approximately) 34 songs charted twice by different artists during Casey's AT40 period through the end of 1982. Too many to flood onto this post. I want to expand this thread by receiving posts of additional repeat chart hits by different artists; possibly one can emerge on top with four or more recordings .

Theme from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" - John Williams and Meco
"Amazing Grace" - Judy Collins (1971) - The Royal Scots Dragoon Guard (1972)
"Americans" - Byron McGregor (1974) - Gordon Sinclair (1974)
"Bang a Gong (Get it On)" - T-Rex (1972) - Power Station (1985)
"Big Yellow Taxi" - Neighborhood (1970) - Joni Mitchell (1975)
>>> Back in the 1950's and early 60's it was common for more than one artist to do their version of a freshly written song and put it in the top 40 -- Here's a good example...
"The Banana Boat Song (Day-o)" - Terriers (#4) - Harry Belafonte (#5) - Fontaine Sisters (#13) - Steve Lawrence (#18) - Sarah Vaughn (#19) - Stan Freeberg (#25)
All These songs were on the charts back in 1957.

Wasn't the Rocky theme in the Top 40 by two different artists at the same time?

"The Locomotion" by Grand Funk (1974) and Kylie Minogue (1988).
The original, of course, was by the late, great Little Eva (1962)!

"Baby I Love Your Way" by Peter Frampton peaked at #12 in 1976, I think? I know there were two remakes of the song: as part of a medley with a remake of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" by Will To Power, and Big Mountain's 1994 reggae remake - both remakes went to #1.
Speaking of reggae, "Wild World" by Cat Stevens may have hit the top 40 in the early 1970s (then again, I may be dead wrong). Remakes by reggae singer Maxi Priest (late in 1988) and the hard rock band Mr. Big (in 1994, I think?) made the top 40 as well.

Wild World did hit three times: And Casey counted it down three times, and none of them, strangely, hit the Top 10!
