Has anyone had the same problem with keeping up with either Casey's Top 40 or Weekly Top 40 by the dates? I understand if you have 52 weeks in a year and you have 51 shows (year end of course counting as two) that the dates should line up. However, I don't think that either show actually used the R and R information for the week that they counted down. Example: I wanted to pick up 5/27/95 and 5/20/95 of RD and CT, respectively because of Blessid Union of Souls hitting number one. However, on both shows, it was the 9th week at number one for, "I Know" which should have been the 5/13/95 show. I don't think it was an error on the trader's part, however. Does anyone know if there was a lull between the time the R and R charts came out and when the shows went to air? If they are using the same chart, it would make sense to have the shows different each week by using different weeks...

I believe there was an 8 day lag between the R&R chart date and CT40's date. R&R published their chart on Friday, and CT40 aired that chart the following weekend.

That sounds about right. I wonder if Dees just went 15 days out during that stretch...there were many weeks when there wasn't much movement at all.
I know that at least in 1990, CT40 seemed to be in line with the week that the charts were published, but by July 1991 (if not sooner) they were a week off. As I build my CT 40 collections, I'll try to remember that!

In July, 1994, he made up a chart and, from then until early 2002, he was two weeks behind - three weeks, in some cases, right after he did a special, but he eventually skipped a chart and then went back to being two weeks behind R&R.

I can see why "Spice Up Your Life" made the Rick Dees' countdown, while on CT40, it barely missed the 40 - it peaked at #41.

That's true: if you could pick the songs to be in the top 40, especially in 1997, you would pick the Spice Girls.
