Hi, I know a lot of people on here try and collect all the AT40 shows, some of us are not as successful at this endeavor as others are. I was wondering if anyone tries to collect all the top 10, 40 or 100 songs of all-time or a specific decade or maybe just #1 albums. I was just curious if anyone does this and how successful they are at accomplishing their goal.

I do and In a big way. I have every number one album on CD in order since 1970. I also have in order (per Joel Whitburn's Books) every top 40 hit since 1970 on MP3 format and On my I pod. I also have every top 40 hit on American top 40 every version and every top 40 hit on the ARC top 40 Countdown s well. Would like to get every top 40 hit on Cashbox top 10 but Never found a list to go by. wanted to get every song in Joel Whitburns book since 1970 but found it way too hard and gave up. tried to do the top 40's of the 50's and 60's but found it way too hard. If anyboudy has done it let me know.

I have the Top 100 of 1965 on my mp3 player. It's the actual list according to Billboard. Bronson's and Whitburn's lists, although compiled by some sort of methodogy, are not the real Billboard charts. I also have all of the #1 songs from the Sixties as mp3s. The problem with collecting these is finding the proper versions. Some single mixes are not available on CDs and I don't have the 45s to remaster. In my Sixties #1 collection, for example, while all the tracks are for the most part original versions (or at least not remakes made years after the fact), there are several descrpancies from the original 45s. Many are in stereo, and most are unedited.
