What about Elton John and Don't Let the Sun go Down on Me 1974 and 92?

I took it to mean that the artist and the song were listed identical. Neil Sedaka's 1976 version is different than the 1962 original but the artist & song title are the same.
Neil Sedaka - Breaking Up Is Hard To Do 1962 Neil Sedaka - Breaking Up Is Hard To Do 1976
Elton John - Don't Let the Sun go Down on Me 1974 George Michael and Elton John - Don't Let the Sun go Down on Me 1992
I also left off Dobie Gray, who was on "Drift Away" in 1973 and 2003(Uncle Kracker) and I did not include Chubby Checker inclusion on "The Twist" in 1988(Fat Boys).

I think Dolly Parton is the only artist to take the same song to #1 twice with I Will Always Love You in 1974 and 1982. She released a third version in 1995 but that only hit #15. This was all on the country singles charts. I should point out that these are three different recordings.

Thanks. I knew there was at least another artist that fell into this category. I thought that Whitney Houston was left off the list because her songs came out after Into The Night had finished its second run or it did not include Neil Sedaka because of the different versions of the same song.
