I'm really on the fence here. He didn't mean literally chopping their heads off, he simply meant kill their power by Republicans taking back the Presidency and the Senate. And on one hand I feel pc goes too far. On the other hand I think the use of language was uncalled for.

As history has proven, musicians have a certain image to project but trouble is usually close by when they publicly state their preferred political party or candidates. Trouble is usually close by whenever Ted Nugent publicly states anything of a political nature, honestly. So many of his views are very extremist.

Yes, but this is the same as joking about a bomb at an airport. He used a bad anaolgy. I won't be playing his music on any of my internet shows OR on WLLW for the forseeable future.
See, when Natalie Maines said what she did about Bush, she didn't say anything all that bad. Banning their music after that was stupid. But saying things like that with the proclivities he is proud to have, it was going WAY too far!

So, country music stations should have continued to play "Traveling Soldier" (it's actually without the "g" but the iPad isn't letting me by without correcting it and I've tried 4 times) which hit #1 the week this whole mess unfolded even though the listeners were mad and wanted them off? Not a sound business decision in my mind. Landslide was popular on the CHR/HAC/AC side but I dont remember what happened to its airplay there after that. I know the song was played as an extra on many occasions on AT10/AT20. For the record, the problem wasn't really what she said it was that she said it in another country. At least that's how I feel personally.

If I remember correctly, it seemed to have peaked at CHR a couple weeks before and was already starting to slide a little, but then when the mess unfolded, it was like attaching an anchor to the song.

I know Traveling Soldier went to #1, fell to 3, and then went bye bye.
