Beatles Chart Anniversary

On the 48th anniversary of one of the most significant chart statistics, I thought I would post the April 4, 1964 online edition of Billboard. And so here it is.

But somebody played a cruel joke. Unless I missed it, the Hot 100 was replaced with the Top LPs chart, which is displayed twice.

Thats strange, When I did the 4-4-64 episode of my countdown show last year, I did see the chart in 2 places. UMD and Google Books. Not sure why its not there now!

Wow, Billboard was pretty bland in those days! I love that horse's mouth ad on page 8 and those albums for babies are just weird.

Last weekend on "Beatle Brunch", Joe Johnson spotlighted the #1 hits of The Beatles-Of course,the all-time champ was "Hey Jude" which spent 9 weeks at #1 in the fall of 1968.
