If anybody out there in AT 40 land is also a fan of American Country Countdown from its inception, through to the late 80's and would like to discuss these amazing shows further please contact me on this board by sending me a pm.
Looking forward to any replies.

I am a fan of the classic ACC. I first heard it in 1989, the week "Timber, I'm Falling In Love" by Patty Loveless was #1 (August, maybe?) I wasn't a regular listener until at least 1993, though I caught occasional parts of shows in the meantime. In 1993, I was a subscriber to Billboard, so I had the charts already, but later on in 1997, I started writing down the charts from the ACC broadcast, the same way I used to with American Top 40 and Casey's Top 40. Though my interest waxed and waned over the years, I listened to ACC all the way up to end of the show (Bob Kingsley's final week) in 2005. I even gave Mr. Brooks a listen to hear his version, but it was basically a completely different show, they even stopped using the Billboard chart, so it lost any unique aspects it had as Kingsley took most of his bits over to his new show, so I don't listen to ACC anymore.
In general, I've lost interest in most current music, including country, so even though I will occasionally catch bits of Bob Kingsley's CT40, I don't listen regularly because I just don't like most of the music anymore.

I always loved Bob Kingsley, Great voice, almost as good as Casey when telling a story. The station I work for has a Country Hall Of Fame Show with all the old country (pre 1990). Its on Sunday Mornings 9am - Noon EST. www.fingerlakesdailynews.comStation is called KCountry. I have been sub hosting it for the last 4-5 months and Sunday is my final sub host show, The regular host returns April 1st.
