I've said my peace about this to a local guy. Suffice to say, I'm one conservative who's VERY happy to see these musicians pull out, advertisers pull out, and I hope more than 2 stations do as well before its over.
That's the very short version of what I said to the local guy.

Canada won't be boycotting Rush, seeing that Rush Limbaugh (spelling?) has nothing to do with Canada. Not to mention Rush (the band) are from Canada.
My classic rock radio station won't be boycotting "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel either. I promise they won't boycott.
Boycotts are pointless, it seems. Nobody wins in a boycott.

I still don't understand why people made such a big deal over these comments or why this woman was made a martyr like this. Seems much ado about nothing to me.

I just find him and his brand of radio to be disgusting. I believe this guy and all the other ideological cheerleaders with tv and radio shows on both the right and left contribute to the lack of civil discussion we should be able to have. When those with a certain political bent listen to those who do nothing but reinforce their views and beat the drum that the other side is totally evil you wind up after 20+ years with this. As far as I'm concerned, the more advertisers that pull out of all this type of programming the better.

Alright, but I doubt political talk radio is going anywhere, and I expect this won't likely be that big a setback even for Rush. I somewhat agree with you about civil discussion, but the thing is, you don't think there should be politics in entertainment? Because that's basically what it is. It's not something pumped into school classes or anything. People who choose to listen to it know what they're getting, and many people like it. So why should you spoil their fun? There are plenty of avenues for more civil discussion.

For fear of spending my time responding and then it being removed I won't respond here. If I think to I will do so later in pm when I'm on a computer. Typing something long on an iPad is annoying.

And his ratings are up 60% since the Fluke controversy started. The advertisers who bailed are the biggest losers, and the ones that hung in are big winners. And so is Premiere for having Rush in its inventory. nation.foxnews.com/rush-limbaugh/2012/03/29/rush-limbaugh-ratings-60-fluke-controversyDon't think for a second that Sandra Fluke is a martyr since the whole deal was nothing but a political setup from the start. My question is where are all the stories of advertisers pulling out of other shows that deliver as much or more offensive content daily? Guess we only hear about those when hosts are fired or shows are cancelled.

It doesn't mean we can't change discourse in this country and be more civil to each other. T his can be a wake-up call to all broadcasters and the power of social networking. Even, Rush is getting into the act now for the first time. We have 45/45 country with the sensible 10 percent deciding the right direction.Rush went too far, knew it, and apologized. This also means the five male panelist that the GOP brought on board to testify on woman health issues were also political setup and chairman Isa refusal to have Fluke testify was also a political stunt. This whole issue stinks to high heavens. My question is where are all the stories of advertisers pulling out of other shows that deliver as much or more offensive content daily? hearsay, a common way to justify your own action, well, the other guy is worse than me, "they do it, I can do it" what happened to personal responsibili ty. the least Rush should have done take himself off-the-air for one week and say he will never go down that line again. Guess we only hear about those when hosts are fired or shows are cancelled. A fox news source on a conservative talker...be very careful and/or at least willing to question the motivate or their stated "facts".

Fox is probably the best vetted news source because Soros and his wingnut cronies are sure to react to anything they believe they can prove as inaccurate.

The only media I question are the cheerleaders like Limbaugh, Hannity, Maddow, O'Donnell, and highly biased news sites like my liberal cousin posts and tries to pass off as legit news sources in facebook to make his points.

Only far right wingers whom spend a lot of time watching Fox News & listening to right wing radio know the name Soros. You're speaking a foreign language to me. Don't spend one minute with those media sources. I'm into countdowns. Your coded language means nothing to me.

Then why are you here disputing Fox if you claim you don't spend time watching them and what he said was coded language to you? The first part of your first line is exactly what I was speaking of earlier. Just as its unnerving to hear from conservatives about liberal biased from every news outlet not named Fox. It's equally frustrating to dismiss them as only being watched by "far right wingers" and (while you didn't say this, others do) the mouthpiece of the Republican party, blah blah blah. IMO, there NEWS is as reliable as NEWS on CNN, MSNBC, HLN, NBC, ABC, or CBS. Keep in mind I capped the word news meaning pretty much what airs on them during the day, not the prime time crowd on any of the cable news places although I do like Anderson Cooper personally.
