I noticed that the archives of the Cashbox charts are no longer active online... Does anyone know if they moved or if there is another older chart archive online?

That link doesn't seem to bring anything up... You must include the Cashbox link that he provided for you and then hit the "latest" button to search, it should then work. It took me about a minute or two to figure it out.

Concerning "Charts Online", wish Google Books would update the Billboard Magazines they show online. If it is a matter of scanning full issues, I know that Joel Whitburn's Record Research company has every issue (I think from 1940 to date).

I tried it and though it works "better", in terms of not searching endlessly... It doesn't bring anything up, as it immediately times out.

I used it extensively for the past two weeks and had no problem at all. Since yesterday afternoon, I've encountered the same thing over and over - something about robots.txt can't display the page. Thankfully I got all the info I wanted, because I don't have an additional alternative if this goes permanently by the wayside as well.

ARGH, I guess I'll have to keep using Billboard charts then. I was thinking of using Cashbox for something from now on, but oh well. Hopefully the original site comes back.

Don't give up on the mirrored site quite yet. I'm on it right now. At least that's a good sign that it still will be available - albeit inconsistently.
