I know ct40 didn't seem to go through as many jingle change as at40 did, but I remember later in the mid 90's the jingles seemed to sound slightly different on ct40. Does anyone know the exact year this happened? I also remember the beginning where they would announce what ct40 was brought to you by, a woman started doing it instead of the man.

CT40 changed their jingles going in and out of commercials beginning with the 6/24/95 show. The new jingles actually premiered on the debut show of Casey's Hot 20 on 11/05/94, over seven months before the matching CT40 jingles were produced. However, it took until 11/25/95 before the very beginning of CT40 (the music behind the opening sponsors) was updated as well.
CH20 had the female intro from the very beginning of that show; it doesn't appear that she replaced the male voice on CT40 until 5/20/95. The same female voice was also present on Casey's Countdown beginning with its debut on 5/02/92.

They also changed the Intro theme starting with the December 17, 1994 show, but what they did was retain the current bed (when the voiceover tells you who the sponsors are) while using the new CH20 theme for the second half (when the jingle singers chime in the numbers 10 to 1). The full new intro, following CH20, took effect on the November 25, 1995 show.
The number jingles, not counting #40, also eventually used the CC/CH20 set starting in 1995.

The same female voice was also present on Casey's Countdown beginning with its debut on 5/02/92. Casey's Countdown debuted before 5/2/92. youtu.be/OW0sYNs9GF4If you listen to the end of that video, you'll hear America's Top 10 announcer Charlie Tuna say to check your local radio listings for Casey's Top 40 AND "Casey's new show, Casey's Countdown." Now, while it is possible that they would advertise the show more than a month before it first aired, it seems rather unlikely. According to that, it was already going by the end of March 1992.

If anyone has Casey's Countdown shows before May 2, 1992, please let me know. May 2, 1992 is the earliest one I have.

They also changed the Intro theme starting with the December 17, 1994 show. Why on earth would they change the intro theme one week before a year-end countdown? That seems weird, don't you think? You would have expected such new intro theme to debut in January 1995 or something. Fresh year, fresh start. I do enjoy the 1994 opening theme and the new 1995-era cues more than the original CT40 cues, though. But the music from that period was just plain awful - at least to me.

The biggest problem with the pre-1995 cues is that after the first several months of the show they had to stop using the "C-T-Forty" jingles, and never replaced them, so you basically only had two cues to use coming out of the commercials, which got old fast.

I think that was sparked by a 1989 lawsuit by AT40, or at least ABC-Watermark, who charged that the abbreviated name was too similar to AT40 and thus perhaps intended to confuse/mislead listeners. Nowadays, Bob Kingsley's countdown calls itself CT40, but probably since it's a country show AT40 has no problem with it.

Personally I hated it being called CT40 and those jingles so I was fine with them being axed.
