So far,Fox Video has only released Season 1 of "WKRP"-I'm under the assumption that sales weren't that brisk-Therefore,the likelihood of the remaining seasons being released is slim to none.

That ended up being a self-fulfilling prophecy. When it got out that so much of the music had been changed (due to the inability to secure the proper clearances), sales of Vol. 1 tanked. People (including many WKRP 'purists') were assuming that the music for the DVD releases would be as originally aired, and when it came out that it was replacement music, the writing was on the wall for any future volumes coming out.

"The Wonder Years" was another great show that will never be released on DVD-Like "WKRP In Cincinnati",the main reason is music rights issues. SNL is another one. The first 5 seasons out on DVD and streaming on netflix they were able to get music rights for. I don't think there is going to be anymore releases for season 6 and onward since it was too expensive to get music rights. On netflix instant they edited out the music from season 6 and onward. Also WKRP will be starting on April 8 on AntennaTV. WKRP Antenna TV promo. vimeo.com/37135744

My understanding (and perhaps it's a wrong understanding) is as long as the show is airing in its same medium rights aren't usually an issue. This is why shows like WKRP and the 1960s Batman which never has a prayer of a DVD release can and does still run on television networks. I've read that some of the music from the network run of WKRP was changed by the time it hit syndication (although not to the extent of what's on the DVD), so unfortunately we'll probably never get to see the "real" WKRP again (unless someone has bootlegs of the original CBS airings).
