I happened to catch a broadcast of a 2009 documentary film AIRPLAY - THE RISE AND FALL OF ROCK RADIO. Trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju2umUy0JOkOpening clips www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbu9zI5yuR0 www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cx8mPmHC-8It does include interview footage of Casey Kasem and even a "King Of Top 40" graphic with Casey along with commentary by several living legends. The often told story of how Rock 'n Roll began is told faithfully here and there's a very good segment on Alan Freed and Dick Clark testifying in the federal payola probe and how the accusations ruined Freed's career and life. But when they were getting to the time period when AMERICAN TOP 40 began, the focus jarringly shifted to underground and progressive FM and how AM hit radio was becoming bubble-gummy and corperate. I was left wondering why they would include Casey in this while glossing over and even trashing the period when he became influential. At the end it even seemed to me like it was turning into a commercial for satellite radio!

Sounds like that documentary was produced by some petulant Baby Boomer who hates everything after (and before) the Sacred '60s.
