Hopefully, this thread will generate a few responses-The first rock & roll song I remember listening to was "I Want To Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles-That would've been in early 1964 when I was a lad of five.

I vividly recall Three Dog Night's "Joy To The World." That was in 1971, when I was five.

I cannot vividly recall which song it was in the fall of 1971 but the songs that I remember hearing the most from that time are "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", "Maggie Maye"and "The Night they Drove old Dixie Down".

It was always on the radio especially on the FM dial throughout the rest of the 70s decade "Stairway To Heaven" by Lynyrd Skynyrd I was about 3 or 4. But this was a few years after the song was released to radio stations as a promo single.

lol at Josh Joel! Come on man, Lynyrd Skynyrd couldnt make a masterpiece like that! You need talent for that!
I'd have to say it probably was something by either Elton John or Wings. (My parents played their Greatest Hits albums alot!) Possibly Led Zeppelin or Iron Butterfly. They liked them as well. Ive heard so much music in my life that I honestly can't pinpoint one tune.
