In another thread, we got to discussing 1981 music, and someone mentioned Frankie Smith. I remember an AT40 show in which Casey announced that in a future edition, he would translate the funky talk in the middle of "Double Dutch Bus." Unfortunately, it dropped out of the Top 40 before he got the chance. And so, 30 years later, I still don't know what Frankie Smith and those kids were saying to each other.

Hey I remember that! And with Pete B's book, I can supplement my memory with the date of the show as 7/25/81. In fact, Pete notes, 'program mention: while introducing and decoding Frankie Smith's "Double Dutch Bus", Casey translated his own name into the song's variation of Pig Latin.
BTW, that show has never been broadcast on terrestial or satellite radio so it's unlikely anyone has it to note the translations. Show for 2012 maybe?

He did...he's the one doomsday referenced in the first post of this thread....lol
BTW, doomsday, in an ironic twist, I just heard a question in a 1972 AT40 from Gary Gould who is also from Manchester, CT.

You should ask Hervard. He may have the single. I think he knows the meaning of the funky talk since he loves this song.

I always thought that funky part was in French, because the track is played almost every weekend on RFM Night Fever, a club classic show on a French radio station.
I dont think this material is the same one of Sean Paul ´s songs. I cant understand any of his songs.

Whatever the case, thanks for clearing this up!

Thanks, man! Guess I could've looked it up myself. Perhaps I didn't care as much as I thought!

If only we can find out what the "Millze cillzan sillzome" means in English. That would directly translate as "Me can some", for what it's worth. Also need to decipher the word between "sillzome" and "plilzay" (missing in the translation you found).
